Project Manager

 

Location: Atlanta

Status: FTE

Relevant Work Experience: at least 10 years

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required

 

Job description:

 

Project Managers have direct responsibility for 1 or more customer software development projects, leading a combined team of both Functional and Technical resources.  The Project Manager must have a solid background in Project Management principles and possess a thorough understanding of all phases of the system life cycle project.  The Project Manager is responsible for managing client expectations, the project team, and project plan.  The Project Manager will work to maximize customer satisfaction on each project. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects in the areas of Travel, Hospitality, Travel, High Tech
  • Managing all aspects of software development projects according to methodology and program standards as set by the client
  • Project risk analysis, assessment, planning, and management, interfacing with all levels of management and IT within the organization
  • Earned value analysis as well as other formal PM methodologies for forecasting and reporting on project budgets
  • Project status tracking and reporting to IT and Executive Management
  • Direct project oversight reviews and assisting executive management with data for decision making
  • Project resource forecasting, leveling, and integration
  • Project communication strategies and delivery mechanisms
  • Development and assignment of milestones and tracking of on-time delivery and quality
  • Manage multiple stakeholders on the project and other duties as assigned
  • Management of the full Software Development Lifecycle from initiation through requirements, analysis, design, development, testing and deployment
  • Identification, tracking and resolution of issues related to the project throughout its lifecycle

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of information technology experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a project manager role.
  • Must have experience in a project manager role on application development projects in Java, J2EE, JBoss and SOA the last  3 years
  • Must have demonstrated experience in 2 large scale projects from initiation through planning, execution, control and closeout with delegation, budgetary and scope responsibility/authority
  • PMP Certification
  • Must have knowledge of MS Office Suite include MS Project and Visio – at least 3 years
  • Experience in resource allocation, utilization in Agile development environment
  • Experience working with Use Case, Story Card, Traceability Matrix -  at least 3 years
  • Experience with software development lifecycle processes including Waterfall, RUP, and Agile processes.
  • Experience with Outsourcing/offshore model is mandatory.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, detailed oriented
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.  Good listening skills.  Good presentation skills. 
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or engineering.
