Information Architect (contract)

 

Location: Miami, FL, USA

Relevant Work Experience: at least 5 years

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required

 

Job description:

 

Work with IT and the business users to conceptualize, define, organize, and model online systems. Daily tasks include planning, wireframing, and usability testing. Candidates must be practitioners and professionals, versed in every aspect of web design, adept communicators, and gifted visualizers – individuals who eat, sleep and dream web design and structure.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in producing design documentation.
  • Translate functional specifications into technical solutions.
  • Responsible for the technical vision, direction, and architecture of the project
  • Produce all design documentation.
  • Define mechanisms of integration with third-party systems.
  • Assess performance implications of design trade-offs.
  • Consult with client to ascertain and define need or problem area, and determine scope of investigation required to obtain solution
  • Manage process to identify, debug, and fix logical or compilation errors. Identify a course of action for debugging complex logical or system problems
  • Liaison between the client and the technology development team in China
  • Assist in verifying that the design established is implemented as specified.
  • Works with the Project Manager to determine technical activities, durations, and dependencies.
  • Escalates and resolves issues with the Project Manager when required
  • Mentors technical resources.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience in designing and architecting large-scale online e-commerce applications with workflows and transactional elements.
  • Excellent conceptualization, analytical, and logic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to explain and defend concepts and ideas.
  • Experience with Visio, DreamWeaver, Photoshop, or other design and modeling tools.
  • Experience with conceptualizing and producing wireframes for online systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in Web Usability techniques and technologies.
  • Strong experience with HTML and Web design principles. 
  • Experience observing user research and translating user research into design decisions.
  • Ability to prototype navigation models and interaction designs for demonstration to clients.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Web Design, human-computer interaction, or related study.
